Your experience
This full day combines a guided hike up Mount Longonot's crater rim with a relaxed boat ride on Lake Naivasha.
Getting started
Your guide and private vehicle collect you from your Nairobi hotel in the morning for the roughly 90km, 1.5 to 2-hour drive to Mount Longonot National Park.
What to expect at Mount Longonot National Park
Mount Longonot is a dormant stratovolcano in the Great Rift Valley, with a forested crater floor inside its rim.
Features
• Hike around 6km round trip to the crater rim, climbing steeply for the first stretch before the gradient eases.
• The trail gets steepest near the false peak, marked by a small gazebo where most hikers pause to rest.
• Reach the rim after roughly 3 to 4 hours of hiking for views across the Rift Valley and Lake Naivasha.
• Stop for a picnic lunch at the park before continuing on to Lake Naivasha.
• Board a boat on Lake Naivasha to see hippos, fish eagles, and other birdlife from the water.
• Wear sturdy shoes and bring a walking stick if you have one, since the lower trail can get slippery.
Your guide returns you to Nairobi in the late afternoon, completing a full day out of the city.
• Your voucher will be emailed to you shortly.
• Display the voucher on your mobile phone with a valid photo ID at the starting point.
• Please check your final voucher for the starting point details & specific instructions.
