Shape your own ceramic piece in a 3-hour standard group workshop with the artisans of Atelier Basma and a Safi ceramicist.

Getting started

Arrive at Atelier Basma in time for your scheduled Standard Group Workshop Session and check in with the team. You join a group of up to 15 guests and meet the Safi ceramicist who will guide you. After a short introduction to the workspace, you move to your station so the three-hour pottery workshop can begin.

What to expect

You spend three unhurried hours at the wheel alongside the artisans of Atelier Basma, following the full sequence from raw clay to decorated piece. The Safi ceramicist leads the Standard Group Workshop Session so beginners and more experienced participants can work comfortably at their own pace.

• Hands-on time at the pottery wheel lasts the full 3-hour workshop, with artisans of Atelier Basma guiding you through each step from preparing the clay to shaping and decorating your piece.

• All practical materials are provided, including clay, tools, aprons and full pottery wheel use, so you can focus entirely on learning the Safi-inspired techniques.

• Guidance from a Safi ceramicist is included throughout, with demonstrations and one-on-one tips that keep the session accessible even if it is your first time working with ceramics.

• Mint tea is served during the workshop, and photos are taken during the workshop, capturing moments at the wheel while you work.

• The standard group workshop format encourages interaction with up to 15 guests, while still allowing you to concentrate on your own design and process.

• At the end, you take home the piece you shaped, giving you a tangible reminder of your time at Atelier Basma.
