Escape Xperience Utrecht and The Hidden Painting

With us you will experience cities in a new, fun and interactive way. It is self-guided, so you can start whenever you are ready. Using the app, you will walk through the city while solving puzzles and riddles. Each game has a compelling storyline, where you help the main character escape or solve an urgent mission.

In this Experience you will discover Utrecht in the year 1562. The famous painter Jan van Scorel has recently passed away. Among his father’s belongings, his eldest son Peter van Scorel discovers a letter marked: “For Peter, to be opened only after my death.” For years, doubts have surrounded the death of Pope Adrian VI, a close friend of Jan van Scorel. Clues hidden throughout the city will help Peter uncover the truth behind the mystery. Will you manage to solve it within 2 hours before it is too late?

The game will lead you to 21 locations: the most famous sites of the city and lesser known sites. The experience is available in Dutch.
