Aleea Durgaului 7, Turda, Romania
Turda was once the most important economic centre in this region. Salt, also known as ‘white gold’, has been extracted from the Turda salt mine since the Roman Age. This mine, dating from the 17th century, was a decisive factor in the development of this town from Roman times until today and is now a veritable history museum of salt mining.
The chalk white houses and the harmonious structure of the village have earned it several distinctions; for instance, it was named ‘The most beautiful village in Transylvania’ and received the ‘Europa Nostra Peris’ award.
Trascau Mountains, Coltesti Village, Coltesti, Romania
