llebroa bridge to Aspøya—perhaps Norway's most densely populated island. Here, you will hear the story of the city fire, the Art Nouveau style, and some of the city's merchants. And maybe you will be introduced to some scents that were very common in Ålesund a century ago.

We stop outside the beautiful Ålesund church. The church was built between 1906-1909 and is decorated with Norwegian white, red and black marble.
From here, we enjoy the view north across the fjord to the islands where some of Norway's most powerful clans lived during the Viking Age. And in 1853 this was one of the sites in Norway where the first medical Cod Liver Oil was developed.
