Your experience
Step into the dual heart of Dublin’s cultural heritage with a journey through the city’s most iconic exports: whiskey and stout.
Getting started
Your day begins at the original Jameson Distillery on Bow Street, located in the vibrant Smithfield district. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in for your guided tour. Once your whisky experience concludes, a short 15-minute walk or a quick tram ride will bring you to the Guinness Storehouse.
What to expect
Jameson Distillery
At Jameson, expect an intimate and storytelling-driven experience. Unlike a standard museum, a Brand Ambassador brings 200 years of history to life. Move through the "Story Gallery" while sipping a signature serve, learning how the distillery evolved from a local operation into a global phenomenon.
Features:
• Comparative whisky tasting: Master the art of Irish whisky by sampling three distinct expressions. This tutored session helps you identify the smooth, triple-distilled notes that set Jameson apart from Scotch or American Bourbon.
• The Story Gallery: Walk through the original 18th-century buildings and discover the "Grain to Glass" process, learning about the locally sourced barley and the water that define the spirit’s character.
• JJ’s Bar: Conclude your tour in the distillery’s atmospheric centrepiece bar, where you can relax with your included Jameson signature cocktail and soak up the heritage of the Smithfield neighbourhood.
Guinness Storehouse
The Guinness Storehouse offers a completely different, high-tech multisensory scale. Across seven floors of a converted fermentation plant, explore the science of brewing. Expect a self-guided flow that allows you to linger over the vintage advertising, the massive waterfall feature, and the legendary 9,000-year lease signed by Arthur Guinness.
Features:
• The STOUTie experience: Take your pint to the next level by having your selfie printed onto the creamy head of a Guinness. Using cutting-edge technology, your likeness is recreated in malt extract for the ultimate personalised photo op.
• The Tasting Rooms: Enter a clinical, white-walled multisensory space designed to heighten your senses. Learn the "Guinness Sniff" to detect the distinct notes of roasted malt and chocolate before taking your first sip.
• 360° Gravity Bar: Finish your journey at the highest point of the brewery. Perched above the city, the glass-walled Gravity Bar provides breathtaking views of the Dublin Mountains and the Irish Sea while you enjoy a perfectly poured pint of the "Black Stuff."
