This is the first of its kind that I am aware of—an off-trail hike focused on finding bones, led by an expert bone hunter.
You will learn about "vulture culture," various bone-cleaning methods, and get hands-on experience in safely and legally finding, collecting, permitting, and cleaning skulls and skeletons.
In this one-of-a-kind tour, you'll join the expert bone-hunter behind the viral TikTok account "RollBones" on an adventure to find, identify, collect, and keep animal bones. This isn't your run-of-the mill nature walk! We'll go where hardly anyone ever goes and find the forgotten remains of animals, and your guide will tell you what you can learn from them, including the species, and in some cases, more information such as the animals' age and how it died. Your guide will also inform you of which bones you may keep, how to get permission to keep certain species, and which to leave behind (or, only take photos of.) Afterwards, we'll take skulls for permitting if necessary, and then your guide will teach you bone-cleaning methods. If you'd like to leave your finds to be professionally cleaned and shipped to you, that's an option for an additional fee. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience of treasure hunting, adventure, outdoor recreation, learning about nature, and developing a skill that few people have. It's perfect for photographers, animal lovers, and anyone who's looking for something a little weirder than the average tour.
Salt Lake City Downtown, SLC Airport, Jackson, Evanston, etc: If you can't drive here, Mountain State Express offers shuttle service daily to the Wagner Chevron in Kemmerer/Diamondville. I can pick you up and drop you off there. Note that shuttles are only once a day.
Or, you can come right to my place and we can go from there, if you have a car with you or if your driver will take you to my door.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
