Bako National Park : Nature & Wildlife

Your day begins with a pickup from designated locations in Kuching between 7:30 and 8:00 AM, followed by a pleasant 35–40 minute drive to the Bako Carpark and Terminal. Upon arrival, you will meet your guide and complete the registration process before continuing onward to Bako National Park. Along the way, you’ll experience views of mangrove forests, dramatic coastal cliffs, and famous rock formations, with opportunities to spot wildlife such as crocodiles, sea eagles, and various shore birds.

At around 9:00 to 9:30 AM, your guided jungle adventure begins. Along the way, you will explore Bako’s rich tropical rainforest and have opportunities to observe some of the park’s remarkable wildlife, including proboscis monkeys, long-tailed macaques, silver leaf monkeys, bearded wild boars, and possibly flying squirrels, colugos, otters, tarsiers, or slow lorises. Bird enthusiasts can enjoy sightings of both migratory and resident species, and the guide may also help you search for the elusive green pit viper. By mid-afternoon, the group returns to the park headquarters to prepare for departure. You will then travel back to the Bako Carpark and Terminal area for your onward journey to Kuching, arriving back at your hotel in the afternoon and completing a memorable day of exploration at Bako National Park.
