Explore Badaling Great Wall with flexible access options, from VIP fast-track entry to private round-trip transfers and cable car choices.

Getting started

On the day of your visit, use your mobile voucher and passport, if required, for real-name entry at the Badaling Great Wall gate. Your selected timed AM or PM entry slot helps regulate crowds during peak periods. Once inside, follow signs to the North Line cable car or South Line funicular area, or head directly to the walking paths, depending on the option you booked.

What to expect

Badaling Great Wall

Badaling is one of the best-known sections of the Great Wall of China and is suitable for all ages. The site is open year-round, with scenery that shifts from spring flowers to summer greenery, autumn colors, and winter snow.

Features

• With the Entry Tickets + Private Hotel Transfers, Funicular and VIP Fast Pass option, you have private round-trip transfers from your Beijing hotel, a South Line funicular round-trip, concierge or butler service at the gate, a Great Wall Express VIP fast pass, and a parking lot shuttle for internal transport. This combination is designed to reduce waiting and simplify on-site navigation.

• Choosing the Entry Tickets + Round-Trip Cable Car or Funicular Transport option gives you a round-trip cable car or funicular, and you skip queuing at cable car booths by using your prebooked access. This is described as best for families, seniors, and limited-mobility guests in the source information.

• With the Standard Entry Tickets with Real-Name Access and Timed Slots, you receive a mobile voucher with instant confirmation, use your passport for real-name entry, and may have a timed AM or PM entry slot during peak season when a daily cap of 65,000 visitors applies. This structure helps manage crowds and keeps flow through the site more predictable.

• For all variants, you gain entry to Badaling Great Wall and can plan around the recommended sightseeing time of 3 to 5 hours within the general opening hours of 06:30 to 17:00 and 18:30 to 21:30. Some sections, such as Hero's Slope, may be closed at times, and free luggage storage is available at the security checkpoint.

Wrapping up

When you finish exploring, you can use any included parking lot shuttle, cable car, or South Line funicular ride back to the base as per your chosen option, then meet your private round-trip transfers or depart independently. Meals are not included, so you can decide when and where to eat after leaving the Badaling Great Wall area.
