We combined your Pamukkale tour with a Hot air Balloon flight. This unique combination will take you deep into ancient history and offer you the opportunity to experience the ancient city at sunrise with a hot air balloon. You will first watch and photograph the ancient city and Cotton Castle from your hot air balloon, and then you will explore it by taking a long walk. Those who wish can then take a swimming break in the hot thermal water of Cleopatra Pool.
Deriving from springs in a cliff almost 200 m high overlooking the plain, calcite-laden waters have created at Pamukkale (Cotton Palace) an unreal landscape, made up of mineral forests, petrified waterfalls and a series of terraced basins. At the end of the 2nd century B.C. the dynasty of the Attalids, the kings of Pergamon, established the thermal spa of Hierapolis. Pamukkale, meaning "cotton castle" in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli Province in southwestern Turkey. The area is famous for a carbonate mineral left by the flowing of thermal spring water. It is located in Turkey's Inner Aegean region, in the River Menderes valley, which has a temperate climate for most of the year.
You can visit the ancient city of Pamukkale without a guide, walk on the Cotton Castle and take wonderful photos. Those who wish can enjoy the thermal water in the Cleopatra pool. Pamukkale/cotton castle and Cleopatra pool entrance fee is not included in our tour. Entrance fees are around 30€ for Pamukkale and Cleopatra pool is around 6€. The ancient Greek city of Hierapolis was built on top of the travertine formation which is in total about 2,700 metres (8,860 ft) long, 600 m (1,970 ft) wide and 160 m (525 ft) high. This area has been drawing visitors to its thermal springs since the time of classical antiquity.The Turkish name refers to the surface of the shimmering, snow-white limestone, shaped over millennia by calcite-rich springs. It was added as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 along with Hierapolis.
