Enjoy a half-day cycling tour through the peaceful countryside of Hoi An, away from the busy old town. This easy ride takes you along quiet village roads, rice paddies, and riverside paths, offering a closer look at local life.
After hotel pick-up and a short bike briefing, start cycling through local neighborhoods and farmland. Visit a local family business to see how Cao Lau noodles, Hoi An’s signature dish, are made. Continue riding through rice fields to Tra Que Vegetable Village, where you’ll experience daily farm activities such as preparing soil, planting vegetables, and watering crops using traditional methods.
Along the way, meet friendly water buffaloes and cycle under coconut trees toward a fishing village. Enjoy a relaxing ride in a traditional round bamboo basket boat and try catching river crabs for fun.
Finish the ride with a stop at a local coffee shop before ending the tour.(OPTIONAL MEAL) The route is mostly flat, about 15 km, suitable for beginners and families.
If you're not in Hoi An, please come to our office in Hoi An to start the tour, or we'll help you find a private car transfer with a small surcharge. Safety first, you'll spend few minutes to learn the traffic rules in Vietnam, try on helmets and get familiar with riding your bike.
Cao Lau is a traditional noodle dish found only in Hoi An. The noodles are thicker and chewier than regular noodles, made using water from ancient local wells and lye from regional wood ash. At this local family home, you’ll see how Cao Lau noodles are handmade using traditional methods passed down through generations, making this dish a true symbol of Hoi An’s culinary heritage.
We'll start the tour with a short bike ride on quiet country roads, about 3 km. Then we'll take a short walk in Tra Que vegetable farm. Talk to friendly locals working in their gardens. Smell amazing herbs and take pictures of beautiful veggie field. Meet a local farmer, help him work the soil, plant baby veggies and water the plants with water buckets on your shoulders.
Cycle along scenic paths lined with beautiful coconut trees, a peaceful highlight of the countryside. Along the way, you’ll meet friendly water buffaloes, a symbol of rural Vietnam. Guests can take photos, interact with them, and may even try riding a water buffalo. Please let us know in advance if you wish to do so, as prior arrangement is required.
After riding a bike through beautiful rural villages and endless rice paddies, you will reach a fishing village. The local people here have been using the round-basket boat to catch fish for years. But as a tourist, you can join to take a fun ride on the round basket boat to catch some small crabs in the green water coconut forest.
Take a break at a cozy local coffee spot popular with nearby villagers. Enjoy a freshly made Vietnamese coffee or cold drink in a relaxed, friendly setting, where you can sit, chat, and experience everyday local life away from tourist areas.
After leaving the fishing village, enjoy an easy 15-minute ride through quiet villages to a pleasant local restaurant. Lunch or dinner is optional and depends on the option you choose when booking. The meal includes five traditional Vietnamese dishes. The tour normally ends at the starting point. If you are staying in Hoi An, the tour can also finish at your hotel or at our local office, depending on your preference.
