Climbing the Osorno volcano is a great challenge and the perfect highlight of a trip to Patagonia. It is the perfect viewpoint over the geography of southern Chile. From the summit, we will not only take a deep breath but also enjoy the panoramic views of the Lakes Region and its volcanoes: Puntiagudo, Tronador, Calbuco, Casablanca, Puyehue and, with good visibility, the Lanin and Llaima volcanoes in the distant Araucania region. This is a glacier climb, physically demanding but not requiring any previous experience, although it does require a very good physical and mental condition. You will be in small groups. In the morning we will pick you up at your hotel in Puerto Varas for our drive to the island of Chiloé, which includes a nice 30 minute ferry crossing during which we can observe sea lions and maybe dolphins.
