Mdina, Malta's former capital is situated on a hilltop in the central part of the island and dominates over two - thirds of Malta. A spectacular prehistoric site on a 4 Hours private tour to Ghar Dalam Cave and Museum, Tarxien Temples, Hagar Qim Temples, Mnajdra Temples, and the old capital Mdina. On the island of Malta, the temples of Hagar Qim, Mnajdra, and Tarxien are unique architectural masterpieces, given the limited resources available to their builders. The complex show how the tradition of temple-building was handed down in Malta. The temple builders used locally available stone of which they had a thorough knowledge. They used hard coralline limestone for external walls and softer globigerina limestone for the more sheltered interiors and decorated elements. Mdina is a fortified medieval town enclosed in bastions, located on a large hill in the center of Malta. The town was the old capital of Malta, and with its narrow streets, few inhabitants, and beautiful views over the Island it is truly a magical town. Mdina is referred to as the “Silent City” by Maltese and visitors alike.

Only recently opened to the public, Mysterium Fidei is ‘hidden’ away on a quiet corner on St Christopher Street and Strait Street. Visitors often stumble upon our door whilst exploring Valletta. Often, simply curious to see what lies behind the walls of the Monastery, visitors are then immersed into the fascinating history whilst appreciating the architecture and experiencing the quiet serenity of the cloisters. Visitors can see how the nuns lived, in a totally authentic setting. Cloistered nuns lived a life closed off from the outside world so they had to be self sufficient. Even until today the chickens lay eggs and fruit and vegetables are grown in the garden. Built with self sustainability in mind there are seven wells dotted around the monastery. Rainwater is collected from the roofs. Mimi the monastery cat, often welcomes visitors personally and happily walks around listening to the audio tour before finding a sunny spot in the garden providing a popular photo opportunity.
