Gudauri has modern ski lifts, including gondolas, chairlifts and T-bar lifts. The Ananuri Fortress is a picturesque castle complex on the shore of the Zhinvali Reservoir in Georgia, approximately 70 km from Tbilisi. Built in the 13th century, it was the residence of the Aragvi eristavis, the rulers of the region. In 2007, the fortress was included on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.
