Currently, its imposing buildings show us the loneliness resulting from a sad decay, abandoned over time. Pozos was founded in 1576 to protect the Chichimecas' silver route. Because it was very difficult to civilize this indigenous group, this work was entrusted to the Jesuits who realized the wealth found in the minerals of this area and taught these people techniques to extract and exploit metals.
