Genocide Museum (S-21 )served as the central hub of a vast prison system throughout the country and was used throughout the period as a secret facility for the detention, interrogation, torture and extermination of those deemed “political enemies” of the regime. Due to a policy of guilt-by-association, at times whole families were detained at the center. Very few inmates were released out of the prison during the years 1975 and 1979. Only 12 former inmates survived the opening of S-21 when Phnom Penh was liberated. Four of them were children. Visit the 11th-century Chisor temple. At the back of the temple, there is a prime spot for views and pictures where you can see a vast plain of surrounding rice fields and countryside. From there, looking down to the east, one can see an avenue that forms a straight line connecting three main features, including two outer temples of cruciform ground plan and a moat. then we head to standing next to an active pagoda, Prasat Neang Khmau, which consists of two deteriorating brick prasats (towers) built in the Angkorian era in the 10th century A.D. under King Jayavarman IV. There was probably at least one more and perhaps as many as three more ancient prasats. Prasat Neang Khmau was originally dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Next, visit Ta Prohm Temple, which was built during the reign of King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th or early 13th century. It is smaller than the similar Ta Prohm of Angkor but features a lot of very unique art. Finally, your last destination is Yeay Pov Temple.
