Arriving in Sparta we will visit the archaeological museum, rich in findings from the Neolothic to Roman times and objects of the great sanctuaries of Sparta. We will then go to the Museum of Greek Olive Oil, which will take us through the culture, the history and the technology of olive and olive oil production in Greece, from the prehistoric times up until the beginning of the 20th century. We will then travel 5 kms away to Mystras which is also our final destination. The last stronghold of Hellenism before the Ottoman conquest, surrounded by ruinous walls of the four abandoned settlements with great post-Byzantine churches, houses and palaces of Palaiologos and is included in the Unesco World Heritage List.in the village under the castles we can stop for lunch at one of the traditional taverns before our return to Nafplion.
