We’ll pick you up from your hotel in the morning for the long ride to the Chemka Hot Springs. The road is bumpy and windy, so hang on! During the ride, don’t forget to enjoy the wonderful scenery and authentic Tanzanian life as it unfolds along the road. When we arrive, you’re free to be you. Linger at the edge of the springs, taking in the blue, blue waters and the lush green of the surrounding forest. Take a leisurely swim (don’t forget that the water is not truly warm, so you won’t feel like an Olympic sprint) or float in a world that’s all your own, listening to the water lapping and the birds overhead but rather refreshing since the water source is from the Kilimanjaro mountain itself.. If you’re feeling adventurous, why not play on the rope swing? Playing isn’t just for kids!

The Shira Route is one of the less-trodden routes on Mt. Kilimanjaro that starts close Shira Ridge. It begins the western side of the mountain and is practically indistinguishable to the Lemosho Route. In spite of the fact that Shira is considered a beautiful and shifted route, because of the higher rise of the beginning stage, it is conceivable climbers could encounter side effects of elevation disorder as ahead of schedule as the primary day.

Starting from the Rongai gate, the route traverses several diverse climate zones, and each produces its own amazing views and experiences. Because of its remote location the route offers trekkers a relatively unspoilt wilderness experience where it is possible to see large wildlife like antelope, elephant and buffalo. Heading up to Kikelewa Caves on day two, the views start to open up, with the Amboseli Plains of Kenya stretching into the distance. The route continues up to the mountain’s second summit at Mawenzi, before crossing the Saddle, a barren plain that connects the two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo. After reaching the summit, the descent is along the more heavily travelled Marangu route, offering you the chance to see Mount Kilimanjaro from both sides.

Tanzania is the untamed half of east Africa, the raw safari experience that first drew explorers from around the world, home to endless savannah, volcanic mountains, the Great Migration and the towering walls of the Ngorongoro Crater. No one else in the industry offer combination of quality hotels, small group size and culturally immersive itineraries for the tour price we charge. In fact, the most common refrain from our travelers is that they can't believe they received so much for what they paid. You may find what seems like a similar tour at a lower price with one of our competitors, but when you compare feature-for-feature, we believe it's clear our tour offers more value for your money. When it comes to international travel, high quality value can truly be the difference between a good tour and an incredible one.
