If you are done with the highlights of Budapest and want to see something more off the beaten track, I invite you on this singular journey into the southern districts of Buda (New Buda and Budafok). We start by visiting one of the most unique churches of the city: the cave church, hewn into Mount Gellert, which has a fairly recent history. We continue with a one-of-a-kind dwelling place: a cave dwelling turned into a small museum, still inhabited a few decades ago. Prior alignment for this place is required. As such this may not work with a last minute booking. We finish our journey with the Zaborszky wine cellar/catacomb, which is part of an extensive cellar system spawning under the district. Wine tastings are available here. Depending on your possibilities and opening times, the sequence of places may be different.
