Åselidalen Valley is a beautiful valley carved out by glaciers some hundreds of thousands of years ago. Crystal clear mountain lakes and waterfalls surrounded by peaks is what you’ll find today. Starting from Bodø, the valley is a perfect place for a moderate hiking day trip in Northern Norway. Bodø is known for excellent hiking options, its diverse landscape and the easy access to the mountainsides. If you’re a hiking enthusiast, you should add the area to your bucket list. The Hidden Valley: The Børvasstindane mountain range contains the signature mountains of Bodø. Åselidalen – “The Hidden Valley” – cuts into the mountains between the mountain ridges Åselitindan and Falkflågtindan. Peaks: The valley is surrounded by jagged peaks, all over 1,000 metres above sea level. Two of them, PerKalsa and Børtind, are favourites among the locals.

Keiservarden is 366 m above sea level and climbing to the summit is not a very demanding hike. The view from the top – you might be able to see the silhouette of the Lofoten, the islands of Værøy and Røst (the two outermost islands in Lofoten). To the east you will see the many peaks of the spectacular Børvasstind mountain range and the mountains near the Swedish border. Stone stairs – several alternative routes lead to the top. In 2016 Sherpas from Nepal built stone stairs along our route, which saves the terrain from wear.

Join us for an evening safari into the Northern Norwegian landscape with a local guide who knows the habits and life of the moose and where we have the best chance of seeing them. We observe from a respectful distance and never disturb the animals. Our aim is to experience them as they are – calm, natural, and undisturbed in their own environment. On the way, we pass Saltstraumen, home to the world’s strongest tidal current – an impressive natural phenomenon that adds another highlight to the tour. Along the route, there are also chances to see other wildlife, such as reindeer and white-tailed eagle. We take time to enjoy the surroundings, with good opportunity for photography throughout the tour. Snacks, warm drinks, and photos from the experience are included – so you can stay present while we help capture the moments.

As far as safaris goes - using ebikes gives us an unique and exciting close contact with nature. On flat and easy roads this is your chance to experience a close encounter with the local wildlife! We take our time as the evening twilight sets in a slow pace - keeping a good lookout at both sides. Moose encounters must be treated with respect and caution, so at any spotting we stop and assess this magnificent animals behaviour. Signs may indicate a calm retreat or an opportunity to stay and watch.
