Elephanta Caves, is an UNESCO World Heritage site. Elephanta Caves have five Hindu caves, two Buddhist caves. The Hindu caves contain rock cut stone sculptures, representing the Shaiva Hindu sect, dedicated to the Lord Shiva. The caves are hewn from solid basalt rock.
