Join us on this tour of the cultural memory of the port of Xixon and the seafaring neighborhood of Cimavilla. Our itinerary will start at Casa Paquet and then head to the headquarters of the old dizzy guild, which would turn Xixon into an important whaling port. Offshore fishing and the canning industry will take our attention in the vicinity of the old rula (the auction), to talk also about the charismatic sardines. We will continue our itinerary walking through the streets of the seafaring neighborhood of Cimavilla, remembering real characters like La Tarabica, Telvina, Rambal, and navigate their stories of life and work. The activity includes entrance to the Casa Natal de Jovellanos, whose works relate to the sea and the men and women who forged the character of Barriu Altu.

You are going to visit one of the places most visited in Asturias, two charming fishing villages knowing their traditions and way of life from the sea and land. The first village we will visit is Luarca, knowing as “ the white village of the green coast”, it is a peaceful fishing village since the Middle Ages and preserves many remains of this glorious past. Our next stop is Cudillero, one of the most visited places in Asturias, a picturesque fishing village declared a historic-artistic complex in which the houses hang from the mountain wearing bright colors creating a wonderful view.
