The 30 min drive up to the climbing area will take you through some of Christchurch’s most affluent suburbs, affording uninterrupted views from the Pacific Ocean to the Southern Alps in the west. Our climbing areas are scattered across the summit of an enormous extinct volcano that formed Banks Penninsula and Lyttelton Harbour. With over 2000 established climbing routes, Christchurch is one of the largest and most popular climbing areas in New Zealand. Your guide will set up the ropes and give you a safety briefing and belay lesson before you start your first climb. Once you’re feeling confident with the climbing systems your guide will review the abilities of the group and continue to set up some climbs that will be challenging, achievable and safe for the group.

This 2 day package includes two vastly different tours in 2 days. The Discover Christchurch Tour taking in the cities' iconic attractions as well as a fabulous lunch. Christchurch Tramway and Gondola tickets are all included as part of the package as well as Punting on the Avon. Day 2 is our Mid Canterbury Spin and Soak Tour which takes you on a fun filled day in the region. A beautiful 45 minute jet boat ride up the Rakaia Gorge, lunch at the iconic Blue Pub in Methven and a 2 hour soak in Opuke Hot Pools and Spa. 2 days, 2 tours all in one place. We are flexible to operate the tours in reverse, operate the Spin and Soak Tour on Day 1 and Discover Christchurch Tour on Day 2. This may depend on availability and demand from other guests. Once your booking comes through we will contact you with details and arrangements. We require a minimum of 2 guests to operate these tours over the 2 days.
