We introduce to you, two of the most representative Carnivals in the Zoque region of Chiapas. You choose one when you book. They are on different dates. 1. San Fernando - February 14th. Get your camera ready! 2. Coita - February 15th. The most colorful carnival in Chiapas! All the action takes place in the streets, and we'll mingle with the crowds. It's chaotic and intense. Not recommended for young children. We'll visit the Cohuinas (traditional houses) and witness ceremonies that make them unique. The experience is more than just visual: it becomes unforgettable thanks to my explanations of the roots of the customs and the legends you'll hear. This will give you a different perspective. EL CHIFLÓN WATERFALLS - MONTEBELLO LAGOONS - DEPARTURE FROM TUXTLA GUTIERREZ Departure at 6:00 am. We will head towards the most impressive waterfalls in Chiapas, Cascadas el Chiflón, where we will take a tour that lasts approximately 2 hours, starting with the ones located downstream, which are the following: Cascada el suspiro, Cascada Ala de Ángel, Cascada Arco Iris, Cascada Quinceañera, and the main Velo de Novia Waterfall (a beautiful curtain of water 70 meters high that has a viewpoint), the highest and most powerful waterfall in Chiapas. Then we continue with the excursion to the Montebello Lagoons, one of the most beautiful natural sites in the country, due to its aquatic environments, both surface and underground, where we will observe lagoons such as: Lake Tziscao, Laguna Pojoj, Lake Montebello, Laguna Enchanted and the dreamy lagoon. SAN JUAN CHAMULA Y ZINACANTÁN - DEPARTURE FROM TUXTLA GUTIERREZ Departure at 6:50 am. Towards the indigenous community of San Juan Chamula, in this indigenous community we will visit the church where we can appreciate the people in traditional costumes performing rituals inside the temple, we will have 1:30 minutes to visit the surroundings. Then we will continue with the tour in another indigenous town “San Lorenzo Zinacantán” native to the Tzotzil indigenous language, where you can buy handicrafts or make a photo session with the typical wedding dress of the town, we can also taste the food and traditional brandy of the community. We finish the tour returning to the city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez. Return approximately 6:00 pm.
