This tour program is ideal for people interested in birds and nature, visiting Thattekad. Guest may book for morning session or evening session. Our guides will meet the guests near Thattekad Bird sanctuary entrance at around 6.45 am for morning session or at 3.15 pm for evening session. If any one need pick up arrangements from near by resorts or towns, we can arrange that at extra cost. Birding will be provided in and round Thattekad Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. Guest can visit Butterfly park also. Transport arrangements or cost should be provided by the guest if they want to do birding in locations other than the Salim Ali Trail. Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary, also known as the Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary is one of the richest bird habitats in peninsular India, comparable only with the Eastern Himalayas. A trip through this sanctuary would certainly be a bonanza for any birder, with over 300 species found in a relatively small area of 25 sq kms. Some of the rarely seen species at Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary are Mottled Wood Owl, Sri Lanka Frogmouth, Rusty-tailed Flycatcher, Indian Pitta, Sri Lanka bay Owl, White - bellied woodpecker, Malabar Trogon, Black Baza.
