The Levada do Norte is one of the largest and most important of the island, which runs through much of the region. This magnificent stretch of the Levada do Norte begins just below the well known Cabo Girão, leading hikers to the area of Boa Morte in Ribeira Brava. It is a very pleasant and easy trail that can be done all year round, because is located in the southern part of the island, where the climate is milder. Along the way, you can enjoy the fantastic views that arise, which highlight the parishes of Câmara de Lobos and Campanário. In these views the hiker can also observe the green fields, the carefully worked plantations and a set of houses and buildings that form the villages. Occasionally, you may find some people of the area that is handling their land, or just taking a walk. On this tour we leave Funchal in the direction of Poiso with an altitude of 1412m and then climb through the mountains to Pico do Arieiro at a height of 1818m. This is one of the most beautiful places with breathtaking views of the island of Madeira. We stay here for a while and walk a little. We then descend to Ribeiro Frio where we are in the Laurissilva Forest and we visit the trout nursery. We continue our adventure along old paths passing Cedro Gordo and Cruzinhas until we reach the Village de Santana where we will visit the typical straw houses (Colmo). After this stop we descend to the village of Faial with amazing views down to the sea and then continue towards Ponta de São Lourenço in the east of Madeira. This is a trip to the center of Madeira Island, where extraordinary mountains with cloud-covered ridges descend to the verdant valleys in the most spectacular way. Our excursion begins with a visit to the Mirador do Pico dos Barcelos (from this place it is possible to contemplate a panoramic view of the bay and the city of Funchal). We then proceed to Eira do Serrado, a viewpoint located at 1094 meters above the parish of Curral das Freiras. Then we went to the small village of Curral das Freiras. The enormous cauldron in which the Curral das Freiras is situated was formed by erosion, which is the latest theory, or, as many still believe, by volcanic activity. The village is very isolated and the inhabitants live mainly from what they cultivate. The local chestnuts are delicious and are used in daily cooking. Every year, the inhabitants celebrate the 'Chestnut Festival', for which the village is famous.

This half day experience available morning and afternoon, and will take you to visit the local farmers market in Santo da Serra, where you can see the farmers seling they fruits and vedgetables, local bread, licours home made, infusions drinks, this is the market where the "madeirenses" goes for shopping. The Rabaçal 25 Fontes walk is very beautiful for its diversity of plants and green vegetation that we can see, also the famous Levadas of the Madeira Island. Levadas are water channels, and this is one of the most famous of the whole island, because the landscapes and unforgettable sensations will stay in the thoughts of those who do this levada. Starting from Rabaçal, you will find an immense variety of species of flora and fauna madeirenses. The walk through the middle of the Laurissilva forest, through the irrigation canals that reach the lagoon from the 25 Fontes, it is the most beautiful point of the whole walk, with a large waterfall falling into a small lagoon.
