This is the best activity you can do in the afternoon in Antigua. This tour will take you to 3 mountain tops with incredible views of the city, valley, and volcanoes near and around Antigua. Our first stop is ¨El Cerro de la Cruz ¨ Antigua’s famous lookout point known as ¨The Cross¨. After getting a close-up aerial view of the colonial city, we hop back on the vehicles and head up the El Hato Mountain towards our Second stop. We arrive at our parking lot in El Hato where we hop into our 4*4 pick-up truck which takes us to the ¨HOBBITENANGO¨. This is a lord of the rings themed Eco-Park where we catch the Sunset and are able to enjoy some food, drinks, and games. Here we will go up the hill and sightsee, enjoy great views and various activities in this enchanted little forest. Once, finished we will head back down the mountain where if you are hungry we can grab some food and drinks at a Guatemalan restaurant located on the side of the mountain called El Tambor.

Explore Iximché, one of the most important archaeological sites in the Guatemalan Highlands and the former capital of the Kaqchikel Maya during the Late Postclassic period. Once a powerful political and ceremonial center (12th–15th centuries), Iximché played a key role during the Spanish Conquest and is considered the first capital of Guatemala. Upon arrival, you will meet your local bilingual guide at the entrance of the site, where the guided visit begins. You will walk through the site’s four ceremonial plazas, surrounded by temples, structures reaching up to 10 meters high, and two Maya ball courts. Through clear explanations and storytelling, your guide will explain the social organization, rituals, and defensive strategies of the Kaqchikel people. The visit also includes time at the on-site museum (closed on Mondays).

In our tourism project we work together with a cooperative of local guides CAT (Comité de Autogestión Turística) conformed by the people of the community San Jose Calderas, Chimaltenango. This full day tour takes you high into the mountains above Lake Atitlan on a strenuous hike ending in Solola. Explore the village of Santa Cruz la Laguna and visit the indigenous market in Solola.
