You will experience indescribable sensations in visiting one of the most suggestive natural monuments of Sardinia, you will find yourself in one of the wildest places on the island. Located between the municipalities of Urzulei and Orgosolo, it is about 1.5 km long, from the Cucutos point, it sinks for about 500 m.; on the bottom it narrows to reach in some places the minimum width of 4 - 5 m. These hard shapes make Gorropu a world pearl, an authentic masterpiece of nature and at the same time a precious treasure chest of biodiversity. It is the most spectacular canyon in Europe, as well as one of the deepest. Gorropu is a gorge of erosive origin, one and a half kilometers long, which marks the border between the Barbarian territory of Orgosolo and that of Ogliastra Urzulei. It has been shaped over time by the strength of the Flumineddu stream that flows on the bottom, fed by waters that cross the Supramonte, partly infiltrating underground tunnels, partly re-emerging from sources downstream of the gorge.

Such an experience, among the turquoise waters of the Marine Protected Area of Tavolara - Punta Coda Cavallo, is one that is long remembered: caves accessible only by sea, iconic coves such as Cala Brandinchi and stops in places where nature is still the protagonist. If you’re thinking of experiencing a different day than usual — with comfortable sailing, long stops for bathing, snorkeling, and time really enjoyed without hurrying — this type of excursion is a very solid choice. However, seats are limited (only 12 guests on board compared to 22 possible), which means more space, more tranquility and a much more personal experience than crowded tours. If the idea is to see Tavolara and its coves at the best time of day, with a complete itinerary and access to the caves, it is advisable to book in advance to avoid the risk of staying out, especially in the most requested periods.

The beauty of the Tacchi plateau is certainly confirmed by the beauty of the landscapes and the particularities that we find in the Osini area. In addition, however, here we find a gentle path with an uneven gradient that allows you to take an excursion even to those who are not really in good shape. However, this is a nice 13 km daily excursion that will take us to visit two caves and two nuraghi, one of which - Serbissi - is the only one in Sardinia to be built over a cave, which we will visit. Let us remember a torch for visiting the cave.
