Meet your driver in Marseilles and head out into the country. Drive east of Aix-en-Provence to reach Vallée de l’arc, a natural spot for vine cultivation. As you drive, admire Montagne St. Victoire to the north and the massive Sainte-Baume to the south. We will start our day with a visit to downtown Aix en Provence, its fountains, mansions and the Saint Sauveur cathedral (1:30). After a visit here, we'll move along the ramparts and park and then to the Pont de Avignon. Châteauneuf du Pape is famous for its hearty reds! We'll have a look at the village and have a tasting at one of the many domains represented there.
