Full Day Trekking Adventure in Cerro Frias
I lived a unique journey to the top of Cerro Frias, designed for lovers of trekking and Patagonian adventure. The tour begins in the hull of the stay and, after an initial walk, we arrive at the Woodsman's Refuge, where the ancient farmhands collected firewood at the beginning of the 20th century. The trail then enters the lengas forest and, after a challenging ascent of an hour and a half, the landscape opens up to offer views of the Cordon de los Cristales, the valley of the Sentinel River and, hopefully, the Torres del Paine. At 1,095 meters above sea level, the summit gives a 360° panoramic view: Lake Argentino, the Andes Mountains, Cordon de los Baguales and, on clear days, the Fitz Roy on the horizon. The descent along alternative paths reveals new perspectives of the hill and allows you to stop at historical refuges to enjoy a Patagonian life. The journey begins in the private port of La Soledad, located 47 kilometers from El Calafate. From there, at 9:00 AM, you will set sail towards the North Channel of Lake Argentino. La Lioness Petrified Forest
This is a whole day excursion very different from the rest in the area. The site is located in the middle steppe just halfway between El Calafate and El Chaltén. Throughout the walk you can see a large number of petrified logs that lie on the surface, some 70 million years old, some with a diameter of 1.20 m. Trekking on Perito Moreno with walkways and transfer
This Trekking requires approximately 3 hours of trekking between ice and moraine, just like the traditional Minitrekking, but it is much more physically intense due to the pace of walking (almost twice the distance is covered in the same time) and the large amount of earrings. The walk on the ice with crampons lasts approximately one hour, it is done 1km west of the traditional Minitrekking area and you can see crevasses, lagoons, seracs and other incredible glacial formations. You also visit an immense waterfall a few meters from the glacier and the toast is made on the boat returning to the port.
