CHILDUHTARON is an ancient place, a valley in the South of Tajikistan, big rocky mountain silhouettes in the form of forty girls. Childukhtaron is translated as the valley of the Forty Girls, which is associated with an interesting legend. According to this legend, 40 stone blocks towering over the valley were once beautiful and charming girls. When enemies came to the valley and decided to make them their concubines, the inhabitants of the mountains prayed and asked Allah to turn themselves into silent stones. Among the locals there is also another legend, according to which the rocks grew on this place after a fierce battle with Genghis Khan. Defending their land, 40 young horsewomen blocked the path of Genghis Khan himself. But the forces were unequal and the riders died in battle. Not far from the city of Dushanbe, in the right gorge of the Varzob River, falls Gusgarf waterfall, the most beautiful in the Hissar Range. A stormy river has cut through a vertical rocky wall for many centuries and falls from a 30-meter height. A multi-ton mass of water crumbles below into myriads of drops, iridescent and sparkling in the sun. The hiking mountain trail (ascent) to the waterfall starts 21 kilometers from the Varzob Gorge, from here it takes 2-3 hours to walk to the waterfall (about 8 km). Thrill-seekers can test themselves in unusual water procedures. This is a rather deep round bath filled with ice water, the smallest mist from a waterfall, and a powerful jet that can knock you off your feet. A visit to the waterfall is available from April to September. The ascent to the waterfall is quite steep, but quite accessible and affordable for people in average physical condition. In early spring, nature simply amazes with its beauty, lush grass, and flowering trees.

The Hissar Fortress, one of the most famous historical monuments of Tajikistan. The fortress was built about 3000 years ago, during the heyday, when the routes of the Great Silk Road passed near Hissar. The Hissar Fortress is one of the oldest and largest architectural monuments of Central Asia. Now it is an open-air museum with an area of 86 hectares, located on the site of an ancient settlement. It is located 30 km from the capital of Tajikistan. For a long time, the Hissar fortress served as the residence of the governor of the Emir of Bukhara. To date, only two cylindrical towers and structures around the main gate, forming a pointed arch and built on the instructions of the emir of Bukhara in the XVI century. There are legends about the Hissar Fortress, which have accumulated a lot over several millennia of known history. According to one, Afrosiyob built the citadel to protect himself from Rustam. Mountain sea can be with great pleasure so called Nurek reservoir, formed in 1972. The height of the Nurek hydroelectric dam is 304 meters.

Shirkent is mainly known for fossilized dinosaur footprints. The animal that left these prints is attributed to a new genus and species Macropodasaurusgravis, there are still no analogues of these five-toed dinosaur footprints in the world. In total, eight locations of dinosaur footprints have been registered in our republic. Three of them are located in the mountains of the Shirkent River gorge. The monument of inanimate nature unites about 50 unique objects as: geological, hydrological, glaciological. The most significant in this series are three different age locations of dinosaur footprints, with the total number of footprints of extinct lizards more than 400. Iskanderkul is a mountain lake of glacial origin in Tajikistan's Sughd Province. It lies at an altitude of 2,195 meters (7,201 ft) on the northern slopes of the Gissar Range in the Fann Mountains. Triangular in shape, it has a surface area of 3.4 square kilometers (1.3 sq mi) and is up to 72 meters (236 ft) deep. Claimed to be one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the former Soviet Union, it is a popular tourist destination. CHILUCHORCHASHMA The name of this place translates as "Forty-four springs". Every resident of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan knows about it. Here, near the hill, in the very center of the sunny desert, several wide springs burst out of the ground, spreading into 39 smaller ones. All the springs, connecting into one, form a small river, the width of which is 12-13 meters. There are a lot of fish here. There is a legend that Caliph Ali, noticing a dried-upriver called Romit, drove to Chiluchorchashma and began to pray to Allah that he would give at least a little water. At this time, he hit the ground near the hill, and in the place where his hand touched the soil, several transparent springs appeared. Chiluchorchashma is visited annually by many tourists and pilgrims. People pray, perform ablutions, plunge into springs, make sacrifices. There is an opinion that the water in these springs can heal from diseases.
