The Matanuska Glacier is a premiere attraction in Alaska (and our absolute favorite!) Up to 10 guests will enjoy a scenic drive along the beautiful Matanuska river in a Mercedes Sprinter. We'll stop on the way for snacks and coffee and enjoy a guided tour as you relax in comfort and style! Once at the Glacier, we will join a guided tour by the local Matanuska Park Guides throughout the glacier and you will be told about the history, size and scope as you traverse the canyons, peaks, valleys and caves on this beginner to intermediate hike.

Experience the thrill of ascending to heights offering 360-degree views of the nearby Cook Inlet and interior Chugach mountains. Gaze at deep, glaciated, u-shaped valleys, and giant ridge lines defining the landscape. Imagine pristine, treeless, tundra loaded with vegetation that you can touch, taste, and feel. If you have never seen alpine before, prepare to be amazed! Alpine trekking is an incredibly unique way to see the landscape. You can see endless miles of mountainous terrain. On a clear day, we can even see Mt. Denali hundreds of miles away! Plus, once you're on top, the terrain can be fairly flat, making the trekking a truly enjoyable experience. During the tour, we may see moose, bear, Dall sheep, mountain goats, and a variety of small mammals like arctic squirrels and marmots. There are also plenty of birds to gaze at like bald eagles, thrushes, chickadees, and jays. This is one of our favorite ways to experience Alaska and the Chugach State Park.

This is very much a choose your own adventure day in and around Anchorage, Alaska! We can see and do many of the popular things within driving distance of Anchorage. If you want to do a city tour combined with Potters Marsh Bird Sanctuary and then on to the Tram to the top of Alyeska resort for amazing views, then we can do that. Of if you would like to go see a few of the different cities near Anchorage we go on a city tour, and have lunch in Girdwood, checkout Whittier and go all the way around to Hope, Alaska! This is one of the best ways to truly make your own itinerary and I'll drive and narrate throughout the trip! I have done 100's of tours for multiple companies out here and aim to make your trip enjoyable and memorable! Other options include the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, or hikes near anchorage. (I know a couple great ones!) And so much more!

Take advantage of the long summer days in Alaska and go out on this excursion in the evening. This is a great sunset drive up 4000 feet in elevation.
