This tour allows you to really enjoy the beauty of Venice’s awakening. Explore Venice early in the morning when is still quiet and empty. Walk through campi and calli meeting only few locals on their way to work. Cross the Rialto bridge not yet invaded by the masses (perfect time to stop for a memorable picture from the top!) and reach the ancient trade center of Venice. Here we will have a real venetian breakfast (coffee/capuccino and pastry) standing like the locals do. Did you know that coffee arrived in Europe thanks to the venetian merchants? Learn it and other interesting stories and anecdotes from your local guide. After breakfast, we will walk through the local market to reach the Grand Canal where a gondola ferry will be waiting for us to let you discover Venice from its natural point of view: the water.

During this walk along winding Venetian canals, "cross-country" through peaceful idyllic squares, we discover together the hidden corners and history of the Sestiere Dorsoduro. We walk to the stunning Church of St Sebastian, discover the history of the so-called "fistfighting bridges", a house now known as "the House of 7 Chimneys" and one of the last gondola yards in the city. It is a small group tour in the sense of "slow tourism" to offer an authentic experience and to be able to respond to questions of the guests.

Carlo Scarpa (1906-1978) was one of the most influential architects in the 20th-century Italy, who skillfully interpreted Venice’s traditional architecture from a modern perspective. Since his early career, as artistic designer for Cappellin and Venini glass makers in Murano, Carlo Scarpa began to explore the vast potential of glass. By resuming ancient handcrafting processes and trying new glass blowing techniques, he developed chromatic and geometric solutions that changed Italian glass production forever. Since then, an innovative use of traditional raw materials has remained a distinctive feature of his works. This itinerary between ancient and modern architecture is an opportunity that no one with a passion for beauty in Venice can miss out!
