My tour is unique as I am your personal driver/guide and I am a British Army Veteran with over 25 years service in one of the most famous Scottish Highland Regiments of the British Army and I offer a tour experience like no other. You will be met by me a very experienced and knowledgeable guide dressed in kilt or full Jacobite attire. I will then spend the next 8 or maybe 9 hours with you and during this time I will regale you with stories about monsters, legends, battles, castles, heroes and villains. I guarantee that you will feel totally informed and be well entertained throughout the day. A minimum of 2 guests are required for my tours and therefore your booking may be cancelled if this requirement is not met. I will normally let you know at least 7 days in advance if this happens. If you wish to book a private tour and set your own itinerary please get in touch by either e-mail or mobile and we can negotiate a price that everyone is comfortable with. Hope to see you all soon.

We will start of with a visit to a beautiful Castle, Cawdor Castle which is linked to Shakespeare's Macbeth, but home to the magical, fairy tale castle. It dates from the late 14th century, having been built as a private fortress by the Thanes of Cawdor, with the ancient medieval tower built around the legendary holly tree - wherever you look, Cawdor Castle is steeped in intrigue and history. A short drive from here will take us to the famous site of the last battle fought on British soil, Culloden Battlefield for visit and lunch. Culloden Battlefield has been restored as close as possible to how it was when battle took place in April 1746. There is a fantastic state of the art visitors centre, where we have time to take in over 250yrs of history and artifacts since the Battle. After lunch, a 5 minute drive to the Clava cairns. This is a fascinating historical place dating back to 2000BC. A Clava Cairn is a type of circular chamber tomb cairn from the Bronze Age.

Workshops run on Wednesdays from April until October This weaving workshop isn’t just an activity – it’s a genuinely immersive, slow-living experience that you won’t find anywhere else in the area. Led by a crafter/weaver from Prickly Thistle Mill, the workshop blends traditional weaving techniques with mindful creativity, giving guests the rare chance to properly switch off, learn a new skill, and create something meaningful with their own hands. Set in a calm, welcoming space, this is an intimate, hands-on session rather than a large, commercial class, with expert guidance tailored to each participant, whether you’re a complete beginner or quietly creative. You’ll leave not only with a beautiful woven piece, but with a deeper appreciation for craftsmanship, heritage, and the simple joy of slowing down – something truly special and hard to find locally.
