The Madeira Theme Park, located in the city of Santana, is a fantastic exhibition center dedicated to the history, science and tradition of the Madeira Islands. It occupies an area of 145,000 m2 and should not be missed by visitors; it is the only one of its kind in Portugal. The Park's main attractions are the four multimedia pavilions; "Discovery of the Islands", "Future of the Earth", "Fantastic Voyage in Madeira" and "A World of Islands, The Islands of the World". A replica of the Monte train, traditional oxcarts and nets, a traditional Santana. The visit to the garden area is open to all, an open space area disclosing some specimens of the island indigenous flora, and footpaths, which are also among some interesting features of this cultural and scientific attraction.

The banana from Madeira is a subspecies of the original banana and grown extensively on the island of Madeira, traditionally smaller than the South American banana but accentuated on the palate. It is supplemented with sucrose, glucose, fructose, fibers, potassium, magnesium and various vitamins from clusters A, B and vitamin C. We will visit the Banana museum where you can understand a little bit more about the history and cultural influence of the banana and how this famous fruit grows in the Island. We will also visit Madalena do Mar, an area that almost only grows banana and walk around the plantations and levadas of the area, and end our tour with a magnificent view over Madalena do Mar

We start at Pico dos Barcelos, a viewpoint overlooking the bay of Funchal and mountains. We continue to climb until Eira do Serrado which is at a height of 1053 meters. This viewpoint offers an overview of the parish of Curral das Freiras. Access to the viewpoint is via a footpath that leaves from Estalagem Eira do Serrado. We went down to Curral das Freiras, a cozy village surrounded by mountains. Finally we go to the parish of Monte, known for its gardens and the Church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On January 1st and December 25th there are no excursions.

This is surely one of the best half day tours for those who visit us. From an imposing Boca dos Namorados with an extraordinary view over Eira do Serrado and the Nun’s Valley. We go to a hidden paradise, where nobody go to visit, but get an amazing view over the Socorrido Stream, plus find out how steep it is to farm in Madeira, where they had to hang themselves in order to get their crops, we go to Fajã das Galinhas, a very isolated area but full of beauty. Enjoy pickup from your accommodation or the Port of Funchal and head to the Forest Park of Ribeiro Frio, an area widely visited by tourists and residents. Follow an easy and accessible path and enjoy the unique landscapes surrounding the trail. Continue along the trail to reach the bridge, where you will ascend to Chão das Feiteiras. This irregular and somewhat slippery section of the trail have open spaces that allow you to enjoy the surrounding landscape, as well as some ponds and waterfalls that supply the Levada. The climb continues until reaching Chão das Feiteiras, a leisure area used by many Madeirans to enjoy time outdoors with family and friends. The route then descends down a section of stone path to Ribeiro Frio.

Then we carry on towards Ponta do Sol this beautiful and cultural village where we visit the downtown as well as it's harbor and we can see where the sea in the winter goes over a Bar next to the Bay. Advancing on the route, we will go to visit the Madalena do Mar Harbor for nice Pictures and see some fisherman houses until we arrive to Calheta, a place known for his artificial sand beach and production of Sugar Cane Rum. The west Tour begins in the fishing town of Câmara de Lobos. Then we journey up to Cabo Girao, the highest cliff in Europe and the second in the world. After being in the top of the world we continue our journey to see the nice view of Serrad'agua valley. After enjoying the view, we head to São Vicente, where we can see most of the Laurisilva forest in the island and famous for caves of volcanic origin. Continuing to the north, we go to Porto Moniz, known worldwide for its natural lava pools. If you want to swim, we can make sure there is some time for that.
