The objective is to offer a playful adventure, through tours through the most emblematic points of our island, also including off roading that only an all-terrain vehicle can provide. Our half day starts at Pico dos Barcelos viewpoint, a very nice view of all Funchal, where we can see different locations of the city and have an amazing sight for lovely pictures. Continuing up, we head in direction to one of the biggest tourist attractions of Madeira, Eira do Serrado at a height of 1053m (3455 feet), where we can enjoy the magnificent view of Nuns Valley, which once was a refuge for the Nuns of the Monastery of Santa Clara during the invasion of the French Privateers to the Island. During our trip we will stop in some viewpoints to see the Socorrido Stream and tell the story of Old Madeira with some narrow old roads built on the mountains.

The tour starts with pickup from your accommodation in either Funchal or Caniço. It is a special activity because it takes place in the afternoon with few people on the route with the possibility to see the Por do Sol over the clouds in the Magic Forest of Fanal, where we will walk through the magic forest of Laurissilva UNESCO natural heritage since 1999. Endemic plants will always be a constant along the route, valleys, mountains and all its surrounding landscape. At the end of the walk we will have the observation of the sunset if the weather conditions allow, in a magical place as is the forest of Fanal with its centuries-old trees. Before arriving at Fanal we will see the north coast of the island of São Vicente, Seixal and Ribeira da Janela with a short stop to take some photos. It is included: transportation, insurance, certified mountain guide and tourist license from Portugal.

Once having been collected from your Madeira accommodation, drive through the mountains before arriving to Ribeiro Frio. Following a short but grandeur walk through the beautiful Laurisilva Forest, arrive to the fabulous Balcões’ belvedere. From this belvedere it’s possible to contemplate the many peaks of Madeira Island, from which Pico Ruivo and Pico do Areeiro stand the highest. Pico do Gato, Pico das Torres, and the well-known Penhad’Águia also constitute part of this breathtaking scenery. This area is also ideal for bird watching, due to the fact that it is home to a huge variety of different species. This half-day is dedicated to one of the havens of Madeira, the gardens! We partnered with Monte Palace Garden and Botanical Garden of Madeira to show you this beauty. The first stop is at Monte Palace Tropical Garden, which impresses with its beauty, diversity of culture, as well as, traces of the history of Portugal since the reign of D. Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal. The Monte Palace Madeira occupies an area of 70.000 square meters and houses a huge exotic plant’s collection, coming from all over the world, together with swans and duck’s, that populates the central lake, peacocks and chickens, that walk free in the main areas of the property. The tour ends in the botanical garden, founded in 1960 by a Madeiran Botanical, here we can find more than 2500 species of plants, from different parts in the world all brought together in the Garden of the Atlantic.

Our walking Tour start in a famous Funchal building built in 1940, the Mercado dos Lavradores, an important reference to all of those visiting us. It is our main local farm market where we find regional products for the taste of all tourist wanting the necessary tranquility for shopping. We continue walking and go through the Old Town and come along to the Sea Avenue and visit the City Door, once the main gate from the Sea to the Madeiran capital. Our next stop is the famous Funchal Cathedral, built in 1514 by the King D. Manuel I, we will visit the interior of the Church and see it's amazing roof and gold carving. Moving along the Avenue Arriaga we see the Palace of São Lourenço, and we visit the Marina of funchal. We end up our Tour in the Catarina City Park.

We will continue in the Old Town walking and seeing a bit of story of the first settlers and how Madeira become an important place throughout the centuries. We will also visit Churchill Viewpoint with a privileged view over Camara de Lobos, the famous British prime minister from the 2nd World War was here in Madeira and we will show you where he stayed and where he painted his famous painting of Camara de Lobos. We finish our tour at the Ruins of Ponte dos Socorridos once one of the major bridges connecting the city of Funchal from the West side of the Island.

The Monte Toboggans Sledges first originated in the early 19th century when they were used as first means of "downhill" public transportation by the local residents who wanted to travel quickly from the village of Monte to the city of Funchal. Presently and for a number of years now, the Sledges are used to transport thousands of tourists every year, seeking a ride full of emotions, adrenaline and an unforgettable experience with splendid views over the city and beyond. We Partner with Carreiros do Monte to give you this thrilling adventure. We will take a walk around Largo da Fonte, a very famous square and beautiful with its gardens, then we go see the beautiful church of Monte where we can find the last tomb of the last Austro-Hungarian emperor. In the end you will take the fun ride of going down in the Toboggan sled. Note: Please note that it is not allowed to ride the biggest sled when you are only one person or two person.
