You will experience three Japanese traditional cultures - Tea Ceremony, Flower Arrangement, and Calligraphy - in one day. SASAGIRIAN is the only facility where you can experience all of these three Japanese cultures in one place and in one day in Okinawa. You will learn the history and manners of each culture from our experienced instructors. By wearing a simple kimono, you will write Japanese letters with a Japanese brush, have Japanese and Okinawan sweets and make macha green tea, and finally arrange tropical flowers and plants. If you come to Japan, why don't you spend a special day to feel Japanese culture at SASAGIRIAN? Each experience is available in English and Japanese. You will learn about the spirit of Zen and Japanese culture in the Japanese traditional room in Onna Village in Okinawa. Join a hands-on cultural experience where you'll make chinsuko, a traditional Okinawan sweet, and roast hojicha (roasted green tea), both using ingredients sourced entirely from Okinawa. Create and taste chinsuko (with some to take home), made with Okinawan flour, sugar, and lard. Roast and enjoy hojicha using local tea leaves. This experience is hosted by a local restaurant owner and offers a delicious introduction to Okinawan sweets and tea culture.
