Lanquin, Guatemala
This place is truly a slice of paradise on earth, and you won’t believe it exists until you see it with your own eyes. Declared a natural monument in 2005, Semuc Champey is a 300-meter-long limestone bridge that forms a series of stunning turquoise pools. The name “Semuc Champey,” given by the local Q’eqchi’ Mayan people, means “Where the river hides,” as the Cahabón River flows beneath these natural pools. Take a dip in the refreshing waters and soak up the lush, subtropical surroundings. From start to finish, this magical spot will leave you in awe!
Be sure to bring water shoes so you don't fall on the slippery rocks. The tour through the caves is done in complete darkness and illuminated with a candle for each participant. This is an adventure tour, no doubt about it.
