As night falls, the tropical rainforest transforms: sounds, movements, and behaviors that go unnoticed during the day become more active, revealing a completely different facet of the ecosystem. With controlled lighting and the guidance of a certified naturalist, you’ll observe details, adaptations, and ecological relationships that are impossible to appreciate under daylight. This experience combines safe observation, environmental education, and a deep sensory connection with nature in its most authentic state.
who will provide rubber boots and a flashlight, along with a brief safety orientation. Once equipped, you’ll enter a private property near Drake Bay and begin a guided night walk along tropical rainforest trails. For approximately 3 hours, you’ll move at a moderate pace while your guide pauses to help you observe and photograph reptiles, insects, spiders, frogs, and other nocturnal organisms. You’ll also learn how to identify wildlife through sounds, eye-shine reflections, and camouflage patterns, and you may spot sleeping birds near the river if conditions allow. Throughout the walk, your guide will interpret behaviors, adaptations, and ecological relationships that only become visible in the dark. At the end of the experience, you’ll return on foot to the meeting point, where you’ll return the provided equipment before concluding the tour.
