The experience takes place in my private 16th‑century home in Riomaggiore (Cinque Terre), located in the heart of the village. My dog Ettore and I will welcome you with a glass of prosecco before we begin. After a few steps, you’ll reach the roof terrace on the third floor, where you can enjoy a stunning view over the village and the sea. The iconic colorful tower‑houses, built along the steep hillside, create a unique and picturesque panorama—especially when admired from above or from the water.

You’ll prepare it entirely from scratch using mortar and pestle, following the classic method and my grandmother’s original recipe. STEP 1 — We begin with an introduction to the history of pesto and an exploration of its key ingredients, their origins, and their role in Ligurian cuisine. STEP 2 — You will then create your own pesto starting from the seven traditional ingredients. The fragrance of fresh basil and garlic will guide you through this hands‑on experience. STEP 3 — Finally, enjoy your handmade pesto served over a plate of fusilli pasta while sharing conversation and a relaxed atmosphere with fellow guests. Between pleasant chats, you’ll uncover the traditions and stories that lie behind the flavors of Liguria.
