1 Tsuboya, Naha, Japan
“Yachimun” means pottery in the Okinawan language. About 300 years ago, during the Ryukyu Kingdom era, pottery kilns from different areas were gathered in this district. Since then, Tsuboya has continued to be known as Naha’s traditional pottery area. By bicycle, we will also ride through narrow nostalgic streets that are difficult to explore by car or on a regular sightseeing route.
Today, it becomes lively in the evening with izakayas, local restaurants, and small bars. It may be a great place to return to after the tour for dinner or drinks.
As you pass through these local streets, you will get a glimpse of Okinawa’s everyday atmosphere and feel the slower rhythm of local life.
Shurikinjocho, , Naha, Japan
