Built in 1471 by Hugues d'Amboise, the castle was once the property of King Charles VIII before being gifted to Leonardo by Francis I in 1516. Today, it serves as a museum dedicated to da Vinci’s life, work, and legacy. In 2021, Clos Lucé was named one of Time magazine’s "Top 100 Extraordinary Destinations."
