This castle is where Leonardo da Vinci spent his final three years. Located just 400 meters from Château Royal d'Amboise, it is connected by an underground passage. Built in 1471 by Hugues d'Amboise, the castle was once the property of King Charles VIII before being gifted to Leonardo by Francis I in 1516. Today, it serves as a museum dedicated to da Vinci’s life, work, and legacy. In 2021, Clos Lucé was named one of Time magazine’s "Top 100 Extraordinary Destinations."
