Even though the history of Tripoli dates back at least to the 14th century BCE, the city is famous for having the largest Crusader fortress in Lebanon (the Citadel of Raymond de Saint-Gilles), and it has the second largest amount of Mamluk architectural heritage on earth (behind Cairo).

Then we will head to the Citadel of Raymond de Saint-Gilles which was built by Raymon De Saint-Gilles, governor of Tripoli, in 1103 Then we will pass by to a soap factory, in the old Souk of Tripoli where you can watch the soap maker artist Mr Charkass who is still manufactures soaps in the old traditional way, from the year 1480.
