The best way to get to know a country’s culture is through its food. During this hands-on cooking class, you will discover the unique flavors of Uzbek dishes with the help of the local chef. The class also includes a visit to the local market where you will purchase ingredients for the meals from local farmers and get to know about the traditional way of life.
With our cooking class, you’ll not only master your cooking skills but also have an opportunity to experience a stay in the yurt camp located in a stunning mountain landscape. Vegetarians are welcome. Please let us know about your dietary needs in advance.
This cooking class takes place in Sayyod Yurt Camp located in the Nuratau Mountains. The travel costs to/from the yurt camp and accommodation are not included in the price of the class however we will help you book these services.Please check inlusions and exclusions to this class.
You can get to the yurt camp by public transport making your own arrangements or book a private transfer with us from your city directly to the camp (costs indicated in the exclusions). Please contact us for public transport information. Upon arrival at the yurt camp, you will be introduced to your instructor. We will then have lunch and agree on the menu for each participant (three options for starters, mains, desserts, and salads). Afterward, you will be driven to the local market in Bogdon (30 min drive) to purchase ingredients and spices. Returning to the camp you will start with the preparation of the dinner with the help of an instructor. The class that lasts for about 5 hours includes the preparation of a starter, a main course, salads, and a dessert. Our classes operate with a minimum of 2 people. For an intimate learning experience, we limit the class size to 8 people. The cooking is done in pairs and the class is suitable for all skill levels. If you are signing up for this class alone, you will team up with a fellow participant.
We will pick you up from your hotel/place in Tashkent and Samarkand at 9 AM and transfer to Sayyod Yurt Camp (3-4 hours drive). If you would like to join us from Bukhara, we will pick you up from your hotel at 8 AM, it takes 4,5 - 5 hours to get to the camp. There is an extra charge for this transfers.
