Peninsula de Quetrihue / Villa la Angostura, , Argentina
The trail begins at the entrance of Los Arrayanes National Park, just a few meters from the Bahía Brava dock. The path stretches for 12 km, winding through a forest of coihues, ñires, radales, cypresses, and notros. In the first 800 meters, there is a steep incline that requires more physical effort, but after that, the trail becomes more comfortable, continuing through a forested path. If you choose to reach the Arrayanes Forest on foot or by bike, you’ll follow a trail surrounded by trees. About an hour into the walk, you’ll cross a small stream flowing from Laguna Hua-Huan. This area is home to a native tree with a scent similar to laurel, which can only be discovered with a guide, as it's easy to get confused by the various return paths leading back to the main trail.

"ni" as a first-person possessive, and "kó" meaning "water" — together forming "Mashó-ni-kó," or "Shrimp Lake." There are small crabs in almost all the lakes of southern Argentina, hiding among the stones along their shores.
Villa La Angostura, Argentina
The expedition led by Eduardo O'Connor in 1884 named it "Lago Frías" (and the Correntoso River was called "Beer River" because they had bet some cases of beer to decide whether or not a river existed there). It was Ramón Lista who, in 1894, named the Correntoso River, and the lake—which has no currents—took its name from the river. It covers an area of 25 km² and flows from south to north. The lake is long and narrow, calm, and deep.
Villa La Angostura, Argentina
Its name comes from its deep and still waters. It has a surface area of 44 km² and an elevation of 788 meters. Route 40 passes by the southern end of Lake Espejo, where there is a beach and a campground; and at kilometer 101, it passes by the eastern end of one of its arms, also with a campground.
Lago Escondido, Argentina
Its location, hidden within the dense forest, gives it its name. It is a small, oval-shaped lake, 850 meters long and 250 meters wide.
