Hi, I'm Karin, founder of daslebenspueren.at. I organise and accompany guided hikes in the vicinity of Vienna. With a maximum of 4 people, the groups are small and private. It allows me to respond individually to the wishes and needs of the participants. The majority of the tours are easy to moderate.

Before we start our hike in the surrounding hills, we visit the famous medieval town of Durnstein. The hiking trail is considered one of the most beautiful in the whole Wachau region and offers fantastic views over the valley. The unique landscape has an almost Mediterranean touch with its holm oak forests. As well, we will visit the striking and well-preserved castle ruins of Durnstein before ending the day in one of the local wine taverns (optional).

It allows me to respond individually to the wishes and needs of the participants. We start our hike in the famous village of Durnstein. You will be delighted by its charm and the gorgeous landscape surrounding it. During our hike, we enjoy fantastic views over the rolling hills, Danube River, the castle ruins and the village. This unique landscape has an almost Mediterranean touch. After having reached the highest point of the hike, we continue with the ascent through a beautiful landscape with oaks and interesting rock formations, until we reach the castle ruins, where King Lionheart was imprisoned centuries ago. Walking time approx. 3 hours, depending on individual speed. In the end, we will have well-deserved lunch at a local wine tavern (optional) before heading back to Vienna. Take the green metro line U4 until its endpoint Huetteldorf. Follow the exit "Keisslergasse" and take the escalator at the end of the aisle. Wait either inside or outside the building (bus terminal). I will meet you there. PS: from Karlsplatz city center it is a 15-minute ride to Huetteldorf!
