This is one of those places that you feel so tiny in the middle of the big mountains, and being able to run in it, it's just priceless!
reeiro (1818m) crosses by some steep trails and lots of steps through the scenic central mountain range of the island, crossing Pico das Torres (2nd highest - 1851m) by tunnels, and climbing to the top of the island - Pico Ruivo (1862m). The way back is made my the same trail, but always with new and unexpected views. The track is a 12km long and about 1.000m elevation gain/loss. The terrain is made mostly of rocky paved parts, dirt and lots of steps.
We pick up the travelers from Funchal at the place they're staying. If out of Funchal, we pick up earlier.
