Getting started
Make your way to the North Shore of Oahu for check-in and a pre-trip briefing. Meet your crew, go over the day’s safety procedures, and get ready for your offshore adventure. Once aboard, the boat heads more than 3 miles into the open Pacific, leaving the coastline behind and taking you to the waters where Galapagos and sandbar sharks are commonly encountered.
What to expect
Oahu offshore shark experience
Enter the open waters off Oahu’s North Shore for an encounter with sharks in their natural environment. Depending on your selected option, observe from a floating cage with large plexiglass viewing windows or take the more immersive route with cage-free open-water shark diving. You’ll learn about Hawaii’s sharks and their place in the local ecosystem and culture while experiencing these animals at close range.

• Offshore boat adventure: Cruise more than 3 miles from Haleiwa into the open Pacific, reaching deeper offshore waters away from the busy coastline and into the sharks’ natural environment.
• Choose your level of adventure: Select a floating cage experience for a more protected viewing encounter or upgrade to cage-free open-water shark diving for a closer, more immersive experience.
• Floating shark cage: For the cage option, enter a surface-level cage from above, allowing you to comfortably access the water while remaining securely enclosed throughout your viewing session.
• Wide plexiglass viewing windows: Look through large underwater windows for unobstructed views of sharks as they cruise past, turn, and circle around the cage.
• Galapagos and sandbar sharks: Watch Galapagos and sandbar sharks moving through their natural habitat and observe their size, swimming patterns, and behavior from the water.
• Mask and snorkel included: Use the provided mask and snorkel to stay at the surface and keep your face underwater for extended viewing without requiring scuba certification or experience.
• Learn about Hawaii’s sharks: Hear educational insights from the crew about local shark species, their behavior, and their role in Hawaii’s marine ecosystem.
• Discover the cultural connection: Learn about the significance of sharks in Hawaiian culture and traditions, adding a local perspective to your wildlife encounter.
• Support shark research: Your participation helps support shark research projects, contributing to greater understanding of shark populations and behavior in Hawaiian waters.

• Open-water safety support: If you choose the cage-free option, a dedicated safety diver remains in the water throughout the experience to provide guidance and help you navigate the encounter.
• Small-group experience: The cage-free option is limited to a maximum of 8 guests, creating a more personal experience with less crowding in the water.
