One of the things that is in great demand here is the Ayurvedic medicines and oils which are made from an assortment of herbs and spices. The food stalls outside the market provide a great excuse to indulge in tasty street food.

Built in 1885, is an important chapel for followers of Christianity in Mangaluru. A line of circular pillars holds aloft an arched ceiling. Oil paintings on canvas bonded to the ceiling depict the life of Aloysius Gonzaga to whom the chapel is dedicated. The Chapel showcases several magnificent pieces of artwork, crafted by Italian painter Antonio Moscheni.
