Hike and Night Camping in Marcahuasi from Lima

During the approximately 3-hour journey, we will cross spectacular Andean landscapes, with brief stops for photographs and stretches. We will reach San Pedro de Casta (3,180 m.a.s.l.), a traditional village in the Lima mountain range. Here we will enjoy lunch in a local restaurant with typical food options of the region. After lunch, there will be a short break and time for last minute shopping, such as snacks or water.

The walk lasts between 3 and 4 hours, depending on the rhythm of the group. The trail crosses varied terrain, from cobblestone paths to slightly inclined paths, with panoramic views of the valley and the Andean vegetation. Strategic stops will be made for rest and hydration. Then we'll get to the campground. Welcome with hot drinks and time to install the tents. Guests can relax or explore the surrounding area in the evening.

Weather permitting, we will conduct astronomical telescope observation.

Afterwards, we will start a guided hike along the plateau to explore its enigmatic rock formations sculpted by wind and time. Among the most prominent are the “Monument to Humanity”, the “Fortress” and the “Face of the Inca”, each with fascinating stories and legends.

Last chance to capture pictures and enjoy the scenery. Then we will start the descent back to San Pedro de Casta, walking for about 2 hours. Upon arrival, we will board our tourist transport to Lima.
